Ralph Lauren Unveils Team USA’s 2022 Winter Olympics Uniforms

Team USA athletes heading to the 2022 Winter Olympics will be decked out head-to-toe in Ralph Lauren.

The fashion label, which has been the official outfitter of the team since 2008, has unveiled the exclusive outfits that’ll be worn in Beijing. Naturally, it’s incorporated a lot of red, white, and blue.

Interestingly, the brand has included new battery-less warming technology into the jackets, which now boast a honeycomb-like responsive fabric called Intelligent Insulation. 

As per The Associated Press, this special fabric is made from two separate materials. The layer expands or contracts in response to temperature changes, keeping athletes cooler or warmer as needed.

Fans looking forward to supporting the team will be able to snag some of the collection’s pieces to don at home. 

According to Vogue, the anoraks (US$1,998), pants (US$195), leggings (US$298), beanies (US$145), gloves (US$145), and socks (US$20) will be for sale on the brand’s website.

To ensure the collection was eco-conscious, Ralph Lauren incorporated recycled polyester fabrics into the clothing, which were made from plastic bottles. Additionally, it used verified US-grown wool to help the athletes keep warm in the icy conditions.

“The pieces are so modern and fresh,” Jason Brown, a Team USA figure skater, told the magazine.

“There was something about putting them on, and instantly feeling a part of something bigger,” he added.
