Byredo Debuts New Scent Diffuser That ‘Broadcasts’ Fragrance Like A Speaker

Byredo, the buzzy fragrance brand behind cult favorite scents Gypsy Water and Mojave Ghost, has come up with an innovative way to spruce up your home.

Its newest scent diffuser looks nothing like the ones you typically see lining department store aisles, but instead resembles a retro speaker from the past.

Turns out, the Olfactive Stéréophonique Scent Machine uses the principles of speaker design to better distribute the brand’s amazing fragrances around a room than a regular candle or reed diffuser.

According to Robb Report, the luxury device was part of a collaboration between the perfumer and audio firm OJAS. The speaker has a two-hour run time, and makes use of “acoustic horn loading theories” to transmit scents in a more deliberate and controlled manner.

Despite it looking exactly like an industrial horn from a bygone era, the device unfortunately doesn’t double up as a working speaker, though that would be a stellar two-in-one offering.

As reported by HYPEBEAST, the diffuser comes with its own exclusive scent, Olfactive Pyramid.

The brand described the fragrance as a mix of “clove buds, bay and incense, with a heart of ylana, carnation and labdanum, and a base of papyrus, Haiti vetiver, and guavic wood.”

Get this unique piece for your abode at Byredo’s official web store at €950 (US$1076).
